Huskies crush the CobrasFree Access

The Jackson County Central wrestling team knocked off Windom/Mt. Lake Thursday to cap a 6-0 record in the West Division of the Big South Conference.

Three matches were forfeited and none of the other 10 went the distance as the Huskies beat the Cobras 60-18.

In a matchup of ranked wrestlers at 121 pounds, Class A No. 9 Isaac Rodriguez pinned Class AA No. 6 Preston Xayachak in two minutes, 59 seconds.

Kyler Thier started the dual with a pin at 107 pounds. He trailed 5-0 after the first period and 5-3 after the second before getting a pin in the third period.

Also getting falls for the Huskies were Nolan Ambrose (22 seconds), Trey Rossow (1:09), Seth Stai (27 seconds), Ryan Haley (33 seconds), Braydan Winter (1:33) and Michael Hansen (1:38). Karsin Jansen received a forfeit for JCC.

The win moves the Huskies to 16-3 on the season. They take on New Ulm Saturday for the Big South Conference championship.
