Frogs dominate LakersFree Access


The Lakefield Frogs got a strong pitching performance from Keegan Klontz and put on an offensive display in a 15-4 win over Heron Lake Wednesday night in Lakefield.

The win ends a six-game skid for the Frogs and improves them to 4-9 on the season.

Klontz was perfect through four innings, striking out seven during that time. When he finally got in trouble in the fifth, Cameron Scholten got the Frogs out of the jam and pitched two more scoreless innings.

Lakefield scored a run in the second, three in the third and seven in the fourth to lead 11-0. After Heron Lake scored four in the fifth, Lakefield scored one in the fifth and three in the sixth to win via the 10-run rule.

Dustin Pronk was four-for-four with a walk, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Ryan Christopher hit a two-run home run and two-run single. He also walked and scored three times.

Bryce Christopher hit three RBI singles; Taylor Christopher had a triple, single and walk and scored three runs; and Nolan Luhmann had two hits, two walks and four runs scored.

Taylor Christopher, Luhmann and Ryan Christopher, the top three batters in the lineup, combined to score 10 runs.

The Frogs are back at Stan King Field Friday to host Pipestone.
