The Jackson County Central baseball team lost a 6-2 game at Windom Tuesday night to fall to 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the small-school division of the Big South Conference.
The Huskies struck first, then tied the game at two before the Eagles used a four-run fourth to secure the win.
Trace Michelson doubled and scored on a Ben Spaeth double for a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. After Windom plated two runs in the third, JCC tied the game with a run in the top of the fourth. Cameron Scholten hit a two-out double and scored on a Spaeth single to knot the score.
Windom scored four runs in the bottom of the inning and the Huskies weren’t able to get any closer despite putting a runner in scoring position each of the final three innings.
Scholten had a pair of doubles for the Huskies and Spaeth had two hits and two runs batted in. Lucas Vesey walked twice from the No. 9 spot.
Logan Butzon pitched the first for innings before Scholten pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
The Huskies host Luverne in a doubleheader Thursday afternoon.
