The Jackson Bulls scored the final two runs to beat the Hadley Buttermakers 2-1 Wednesday night in Jackson. The win moves the Bulls to 6-3 on the season.

Hadley scored an unearned run in the top of the first inning but didn’t muster anything else the rest of the way.

Jackson tied the game in the second when Payton Handevidt singled, stole second and scored on an error. The Bulls took the lead in the top of the eighth when Andy Wolf was hit by a pitch and scored on a double by Evan Olesen.

Hadley put runners on second and third in the top of the ninth, but was unable to pull even.

Gavin Jacobsen pitched the first inning before Olesen pitched eight scoreless innings to get the win. All three of Jacobsen’s outs came via strikeout. Olesen fanned seven batters and gave up just three hits.

Olesen also led the Jackson offense with two hits. Wolf was on base three times, getting hit by a pitch, walking and reaching on an error.

Jackson’s game Saturday against Larchwood, Iowa, has been canceled. The Bulls play again Sunday when they host Lakefield.
