Join a PEBC naturalist to learn about the remarkable ways animals survive, and sometimes avoid, winter! Weather permitting we'll even use snowshoes to explore the park for animals.

Join us as guest presenter, Howard Paul of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, shares his knowledge of the many aquatic birds that have made our Prairie Pothole region famous as a waterfowl production area. DIY Recycles Sweater Mittens Who: Youth and Adults Give new life to your favorite old sweaters by turning them into warm, winter mittens! Maybe you've seen cute, recycled mittens at craft fairs and thought, 'I could do that!' Well, here's your chance. Bring in your old, worn-out sweaters (felted or washed wool works best) and an old T-shirt or sweatshirt that can be used as a liner and leave with a new pair of mittens! Join us to learn how to identify different animal tracks, which scat belongs to what critter, and try to figure out just where those snow tunnels lead to!
