Jaws of Life dispatched to crash
By (January 04, 2010)
One person was injured after being trapped in a vehicle that rolled off County Road 24 west of Heron Lake Monday afternoon.
Erin K. Haberman, 26, of Heron Lake, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries shortly after the 1996 Grand Prix she was driving rolled onto its roof into the north ditch around 4:45 p.m. Monday
The Heron Lake Fire Department and Ambulance Service and Okabena First Responders were paged to the scene of the rollover near the intersection of 340th Avenue and 900th Street. A request to dispatch the Jaws of Life followed shortly after the initial page.
On Tuesday, Jackson County Sheriff Roger Hawkinson said it appeared Haberman drove over some loose snow on the roadway and lost control.
“The vehicle spun sideways and went into the north ditch, where it rolled, coming to rest on the roof,” he said in a release.
Hawkinson reported damage to the vehicle was “severe.”
