JCC VB, FB earn top seeds
By (October 23, 2009)
Both the Jackson County Central football and volleyball teams received No. 1 seeds in their upcoming tournaments.

The football team (7-1) will host the 1-7 St. James Saints Tuesday night, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. A win would match the Huskies up against either fifth-seeded Windom Area (3-5) or fourth-seeded Minnesota Valley Lutheran (3-5). On the bottom half of the bracket are second-seeded Luverne (6-2) against seventh-seeded Martin County West (3-5) and third-seeded Pipestone Area (5-3) against sixth-seeded Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (5-3).

The volleyball team opens against Fairmont next Friday in Jackson. The Huskies have the top seed in the bottom half of the Section 3AA bracket, with Fairmont in the eighth spot. Fourth-seeded Luverne and fifth-seeded Worthington square off that night in Jackson as well, with the winner of that match playing the winner of the JCC/Fairmont match Nov. 2 in Windom.
