Storms prompt warnings

A line of thunderstorms rumbled through Jackson County Thursday night, dropping several inches of rain and prompting the National Weather Service to issue tornado, flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings.
The tornado warning was issued for northwestern Jackson County at 9:09 p.m. and remained in effect until 9:30. According to NWS Doppler Radar, a tornado was indicated near Dundee, 14 miles west of Windom at 9:09 p.m., moving east at 30 miles per hour.
Portions of Jackson County remained in a severe thunderstorm warning until 9 p.m. Thursday.
Jackson County was also in a flash flood warning until midnight.
At 8:12 p.m., NWS Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing tennis ball-size hail. This storm was located 4 miles west of Worthington and was moving northeast at 35 miles per hour.
It was expected to be near Brewster at 8:30, Heron Lake around 8:45 and Lakefield around 8:50 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm watch remained in effect until 2 a.m. Friday.
