Outage caused by farm equipment
Print This Page Print this page
Nearly 1,200 Federated Rural Electric members were without power for about an hour Saturday afternoon when farm tillage equipment broke a transmission pole in Sioux Valley Township.
A full 1,176 members, along with the entire city of Round Lake, were without power from shortly before 3:30 p.m. Saturday to around 4:30 p.m. The outage affected four Federated substations, including Miloma, West Lakefield, Round Lake and Minneota.
Federated crews found the problem and re-routed power on the Great River Energy transmission lines. The Miloma, West Lakefield and Round Lake substations were re-energized at 4:22 p.m., followed by the Minneota substation at 4:40 p.m.
This is the fourth farming outage in a week.
